How about canoeing in Krabi?

After visiting one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and having a mild heat stroke after the full day in the sun, my body told me : NO MORE! Fortunately the hostel had to offer many different activities which do not expose you to sun as much. I decided to try the canoeing session as it looked so promising on the pictures in a tour book. The trip turned out to be the most beautiful, peaceful and soul cleansing experience of the whole travelling. I have done some kayaking before but never a guided few hour tour and now I will consider this option everywhere I go (if that is on offer). The waters in the forest we kayaked to were quite shallow and its level changes drastically in each 24h. Our trip was approximately between 8 - 1pm and we would not be able to stay even an hour longer because the water would go so low that we would be able to walk the canoeing route instead. The trip was also very informative, we were told that Thai government began to protect all mangrove after the tsunami few years ago (now all mangrove is under queen protection) as before it was heavily cut by people and it have been noticed that when the big waves came, remaining mangrove acted like a protection and took most of the water power saving towns behind it. Towns next to the cut mangrove were severely damaged.

That's how much Asian girls hate the sun!
