Bangkok Day 2

Having had to get up at 5am to get to the pick up point of floating market tour at 7am, I was very surprised how well I slept, still remembering I must be jet-lagged. And how surprised I was seeing Bangkok buzzing like at any other time of the day although it was so early.

For the breakfast again we had some fresh fruits in the area of Khao san Road (this time without experiments) and soon we were picked up by a mini bus thinking we are only going to see floating market. We didn't know that before final destination we are also going to see the market on the rail ways. Literally: people trade on active rail ways and with the signal of the approaching train they quickly fold their stands just to put it back down and return to regular trading after the train passes.

Darwin got an interesting coffee holder with his coffee. That's pretty simple and good idea:

 Thai beer selection

The next and final stop was a floating market. A beautiful experience although being exposed to a 'hard sale' at times (and there is nowhere to go because you are stuck on a boat).

Boat traffic jam

At some point, seeing the opportunity, I jumped out from the boat to take a photo with a big, 30kg snake. I have never held a snake before (or maybe a looong time ago and I cannot remember) but I pretty clearly felt how easily this massive snake could wrap around my neck and kill me. And the owner didn't help the situation forcing his head and sniffing tongue to my face... Oh well, you can just read the expression on my face. At least I was the only brave one on a whole boat cause nobody (including Darwin) was willing to touch the snake. I even got an ovation from the rest of the boat.

'I am holding the snake, yeah'

'Look, look! I am holding the snake, that's sooo cool!)

'YYYY ok, maybe that's enough?'

'Help? Somebody take this snake from me? ... Please?'

'YYY, it's ok, but hey snake, don't come cloeser...'

'Ok seriously snake, don't look at me'

'Nooooooo!!!'

After the floating market we went back to MBK where I made a very spontaneous decision. 100's stands with electronics and 4 hours or haggling later, for a first time I became an owner of a brand new iPhone (4s) finalizing it in a pretty good deal (so now my sister and Kevin, apple devices owners, can follow my location. I'm sure my mum will love to hear about it).

As a final note, while approaching MBK we could hear screams and singing of some band. When we came closer it looked like we have witness a concert/few song singing of some kind of Thai's One Direction. I think I will keep the comments for myself.
